When teeth are damaged and weakened beyond repair, they sometimes need to be completely removed. Fixed Hybrid Dentures are among the most exciting and aesthetic treatment options to rebuild missing teeth. Fixed Hybrid Dentures are securely affixed to implants, allowing patients to confidently smile, chew, and enjoy the foods they love.

What are Fixed Hybrid Dentures?

Fixed Hybrid Dentures are a hybrid between an implant-supported bridge and a denture. A solid foundation is created by placing a set of implants into the bone, on which the customized dentures are secured. Not meant to be removeable, they function and look like natural teeth.

What are the benefits of fixed hybrid dentures?

Fixed Hybrid Dentures not only restore a functional, natural-looking smile, but have the important advantage of being fixed to implants for superior stability. Being securely attached to implants allows a Fixed Hybrid Denture to be less bulky than a traditional plastic denture, giving a patient the ability to both chew and taste better without worrying about movement or discomfort.

Am I a candidate for Fixed Hybrid Dentures?

A pre-treatment restorative consultation is required to determine if you are an ideal candidate for Fixed Hybrid Dentures. Dr. Walters will perform a detailed examination, while also addressing your questions and concerns. A second surgical consultation is then completed with the oral surgeon.

What will the treatment be like to experience?

An oral surgeon will perform the tooth removal and place the implants at their office location. This allows for the surgeon to provide sedation if requested by the patient. On the day of implant surgery, the patient will see Dr. Walters to attach a temporary set of Hybrid Dentures that will be secured in place for 3-6 months. This first set allows for the implants to heal, and for Dr. Walters to assess the aesthetics, speech and function.
