Office Manager

I live in San Luis Obispo, CA. I am married to my favorite person, Dr. Eric Walters, and I am a mom to an amazing, smart, and creative daughter, Clara. I am also a dog mom to Sadie and a cat mom to Lola. Although I married into dentistry, I love the health and wellness field. The ability to help educate patients and encourage them to take care of themselves and live their healthiest lives is genuinely satisfying. As an office manager, I get to meet amazing people and provide them with a dental experience that is truly special. At Islay Hill Dentistry Co.Visit our homepage, we embrace the fact that everyone is unique and deserves a personalized experience. When away from dentistry, I love spending time with my family and my animals. I dabble in arts, crafts, and design. I love being outside and exploring the beautiful Central Coast. I also enjoy learning, reading, and attending concerts with my husband.

Front Office

I’m from a small town in Northern California called Nevada City. I moved to San Luis Obispo in 2012 when I started at Cal Poly and have been here ever since. I love living in this area and building a life in this community.

Why did you choose dentistry?

I am interested in entering the health field and this seemed like a great introduction. I’ve learned about patient care, the importance of communicating with patients about prioritizing their health, and more.

What is the best part of your job?

I like interacting with each person that walks into our office. It’s fun to hear a little bit from each person about where they’re coming from and where they’re going.

What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?

I think I’m welcoming to the patients as they walk through the door, which is especially helpful as new patients enter a place they’ve never been before.

What do you do outside of the office?

I spend a lot of time with my roommates. We like to go to the beach and go hiking around the area. I have a sourdough starter that I attempt to bake with.

What’s one item on your bucket list?

A random goal I have is to keep the list of countries I’ve visited higher than my age for as long as I can. If I turn an age that is higher than the list of countries visited, it motivates me to travel somewhere new! Who knows how long this will last, but it’s fun to keep up while I’m young.

What is the best quote you’ve ever heard?

“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” – C.S. Lewis

I am a San Luis Obispo native and was raised right here is Arroyo Grande. I am lucky to have my immediate family and all my close friends still living in the area.

Why did you choose dentistry?

I first discovered dentistry when I stumbled upon the Allen Hancock college dental assisting booth on career day. Immediately following my senior year I joined the program and became a licensed dental assistant by the age of 19. Through assisting I discovered my passion for preventative care and oral hygiene education. I continued my education and received my Dental Hygiene license in 2011.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is the connections I make with my patients an meeting so many different people. I also love the feeling I get when I can help my patients improve and better understand the importance of their oral health and it’s impact on their TOTAL health.

What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?

I am very genuine in wanting to help people be the healthiest they can be. I go above and beyond to treat every patient individually and provide care that is very specific to them and their needs. I also am very much a team player with my coworkers. All of us working together makes for an amazing place to work and provide care to our awesome patients.

What do you do outside of the office?

In my spare time I am typically with my boyfriend taking mini weekend trips or out exploring our wonderful area. All the Amazing hikes, live music, and yummy restaurants. I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I am pretty crafty and typically always have a project going.

What’s one item on your bucket list?

My bucket list consists of travel, travel, and more travel….Europe, Ireland, alaskan cruise, Australia etc. I also still need to skydive!
